DAN Diving Operations Safety Training
This course was created by Divers Alert Network (DAN) and is built on decades of research, knowledge, and first-hand experience. It is for dive operations (dive shops, resorts, dive teams, aquariums, zoos, etc.) and dive professionals who want to elevate their dive safety knowledge and build a culture of safety in their operations. It teaches operators and professionals how to identify and assist in mitigating technical and operational risks across the range of dive-related activities.

When enrolling, you must purchase both the Virtual Academic Training and the On-Site Training from the list below.
Get started on your DOST coursework with the Virtual Academic Training. This includes six sessions with our instructor, Claude Smith. There is no pre-work required for the first session.
During the virtual training, we'll cover important topics such as fire awareness, oxygen cleaning, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), recompression chambers, emergency action plans, right of refusal, sustainable business practices, and ecological aspects.
Your DOST training concludes with two days of On-Site Training at a dive shop/operation. This hands-on portion of the course will go through real scenarios that help you identify and assist in mitigating technical and operational risks across the full range of dive-related activities.
You must complete your Virtual Academic Training prior to the on-site work.
