Open Water Diver Certification Sessions at Lake Phoenix

Schedule:

Before Friday or Friday:

Pick up three cylinders, weights, and all rental gear at Vienna store (510 Mill St NE).

(Please let us know when you will be stopping by to be fitted for your wetsuit, collect rental gear (including cylinders & weights). Again, we highly recommend a 7 mm wetsuit and possible hood for Lake Phoenix).

Friday:

We recommend driving down to Lake Phoenix on Friday and camping or staying at a local hotel. That way you’ll be well rested and ready to start the day on Saturday.
If you decide to camp, you must arrive before 6:00 pm on Friday, or whichever day you begin to camp.

Saturday:

8:30 AM: Meet at Lake Phoenix Scuba Park & Family Campground shop (1 Quarry Lane, Rawlings, VA 23876), check in, group attendance, and make sure all waivers are completed. The instructor will check in with facility and obtain the assigned pavilion information.

9:00 AM: Arrive at assigned pavilion with gear, set up, and begin Open Water dives 1& 2 (and possibly 3) if time permits. The instructor will designate the breaks and times between dives.

4:30-6:30 PM: Done for the day. The end time will vary based on the group's pace and the instructors' evaluation.

Please bring plenty of water, snacks, and lunch with you to have in between dives.
The instructor will have a cooler to provide storage and ice.

Sunday:

8:30 AM: Meet at Lake Phoenix Scuba Park & Family Campground shop (1 Quarry Lane, Rawlings, VA 23876), check in, group attendance, and obtain the assigned pavilion information.

9:00 AM: Arrive at assigned pavilion with gear, set up, and begin Open Water dives 3 & 4. The instructor will designate the breaks and times between dives, and when class will be dismissed for the day.
