Highlights of where we’re diving and with whom:

Turneffe has dive sites suitable for every level of diver. The shallow reefs are perfect for the novices and casual divers, while the varied topography is more suited for the seasoned diver. A good variety of sites and larger reef fish, turtles and spotted eagle rays are frequently sighted. The endemic white spotted toadfish is a delight to find for any diver.

Closer inspection reveals basket stars, coral shrimp, and file clams. The nearby reef is home to schools of barracuda and there are several impressive coral patches.

Many of the dive sites in Belize act as spawning sites for reef fish as the lagoons and mangrove shallows offer good protection for juvenile fish. For this reason, the marine biodiversity is unmatched in this region.

At Turneffe, there's enough variety and big fish action to keep any diver happy for weeks. Caribbean reef sharks and the ever-present nurse sharks. A small pod of bottlenose dolphins live in the south lagoon and spotted dolphins also regularly hunt in these waters. Manatees can sometimes be seen in the water away from their lagoon home.

Highlights of where we’re staying:

Turneffe Key is a 14-acre private Caribbean Island Resort that is conveniently located only minutes from some of the world’s best dive sites.  This resort offers luxurious mahogany interiors and breathtaking views in every direction.  They offer 5-star dining including happy hour daily at 6:30 PM and all-day snacks in the dining room.  You also have the chance to relax in their spa equipped with two resident massage therapists and locally sourced seaweed wraps.
